Background:

Sally is a 45-year-old mother of three sons, Beau (20), Arch (19) and Cooper (17).   Alongside her husband, Damien, she lives on a growing beef cattle enterprise located 50 kilometres north of Mitchell in Southwest Queensland. Their children attended Charleville School of Distance Education throughout their primary years before transitioning to boarding at Toowoomba Grammar School for secondary education. Cooper is currently in Year 11, Arch is contracting mustering in Northwest Queensland, and Beau is in his third year as an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) apprentice.

Sally boarded at St Margaret’s Anglican Girls School in Brisbane before completing a Bachelor of Applied Science (Radiography) at QUT. Following graduation, she fulfilled her Rural Health Scholarship obligations as the sole radiographer at Longreach Hospital, servicing the surrounding region. Outside of work on the property, Sally enjoys long-distance running and cheering on her sons from the sidelines of a rugby field.

A passionate advocate for rural and remote education, Sally has served as President of the Mitchell-Tomoo/Dunkeld ICPA Branch for the past seven years. In 2024, she joined the Queensland State Council, where she leads the Boarding Schools, Hostels and Non-State Schools portfolio. Having personally benefited from many of the initiatives championed by ICPA, Sally is committed to giving back to the organisation and advocating for improved educational opportunities for rural and remote families.
