Annette lives on the Gold Coast with her husband, Ross. Their daughter and her young family also live on the Gold Coast. Annette has completed her career in schools whilst Ross works in a large independent school in Brisbane. Their daughter is also a teacher on the Gold Coast! Both Annette and Ross have held leadership positions in both Day and Boarding Schools in Victoria, NSW and Queensland, and it is this experience that caused her to snap up the opportunity to contribute to ICPA Qld in the Secretary role.

Annette joined Lone Members Branch in 2021 in order to be able to contribute to the advocacy of ICPA Qld in a tangible way. Annette has been pleased to attend State Conferences as a guest school representative in the past, and now enjoys attending meetings and conferences in her current role on State Council. These are always motivating and there is always something to learn.

Annette has always admired the commitment of the organisation and its members – commitment to attaining the best education possible for all children – not just those in urban areas and larger settlements. Never has it been more important to speak up for rural and remote education. Education is the key to a bright future for all our children and they must all enjoy equity of access to educational opportunities.
