Snippets from Augathella Branch ICPA.
The Augathella Branch of ICPA was formed on 28th July 1973 with Mrs Patricia (Trish) Mitchell becoming its inaugural President and Mrs Moya Goodman the Secretary/Treasurer - 13 families joined as financial members.
Since its inception the Augathella Branch has produced a Federal President and two State Presidents. Six branch members have served on both Federal & State Councils. At present the Branch has 2 Life Members – Mrs. Gillian Allen and Mrs. Margie Greenway, and 40 member families.
Some issues of concern for our Branch are: -
SMALL SCHOOLS
- Teacher/student ratio
- Principal/teacher workload – especially the administrative workload of teaching principals in small rural schools.
- Budgets to reflect the real cost of offering a quality education.
DISTANCE EDUCATION
- Continual curriculum upgrades.
- Budgets to reflect the real cost of offering a quality education.
FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE
- Conveyancing – realistic financial remuneration for isolated families when the need arises to transport children to meet school bus runs.
- Financial assistance to be available for students to follow their chosen career paths.
