S15: SPRINGSURE ROLLESTON BRANCH

Schools - Students & Staffing
Motion:

“That ICPA Qld is thanked for its continued advocacy and engagement with the Department of Education (DoE) and relevant State Ministers regarding the Bypass Procedure review, and that it continues to strongly emphasise the urgency of expediting this process to minimise ongoing disadvantage to affected students and families.”

Explanation:

Springsure Rolleston Branch acknowledges and appreciates the ongoing efforts of ICPA Qld in representing members’ concerns and actively participating in the Bypass Procedure review process, including stakeholder consultation and submission of case studies.

However, the current review timeline, extending through to the end of 2026 with implementation not anticipated until 2027, will continue to disadvantage students in the interim—particularly those in P–10 schools with limited subject access. This delay places additional educational, financial and emotional pressure on families who are already making difficult decisions regarding their children’s schooling.

Given the significance of this issue and its direct impact on current students, it is critical that ICPA Qld continues to advocate for a more timely outcome and prioritisation of this review.
