Paul McAuliffe – Aramac–Muttaburra Branch Life Member, 1997
Paul McAuliffe was a dedicated and highly valued member of the Aramac–Muttaburra Branch of ICPA, contributing more than two decades of service and support to the organisation. His longstanding involvement reflected a genuine commitment to strengthening the Branch and supporting its work in improving educational opportunities for geographically isolated children and their families.
Paul became a member of the Aramac–Muttaburra Branch in 1974, during the early years of ICPA's development. Over the following years, he remained a loyal and active supporter, generously contributing his time and energy to Branch activities and fundraising initiatives.
In 1990, Paul was elected Branch Treasurer, a position he held continuously until the Annual General Meeting in 1996. During these six years, he undertook the important responsibility of managing the Branch's finances, providing valuable administrative support and helping ensure the organisation remained financially sound.
Paul's contribution extended well beyond his formal responsibilities as Treasurer. He devoted numerous hours to Branch fundraising activities, willingly assisting wherever needed to support the organisation's ongoing work. His reliability, practical assistance and willingness to contribute were greatly appreciated by fellow members.
Together with his wife Zilla, who also held numerous leadership positions within ICPA at Branch and State levels, Paul demonstrated the importance of family commitment to the organisation. Their combined involvement provided valuable continuity and support to the Aramac–Muttaburra Branch over many years.
Throughout his membership, Paul was recognised for his dedication, generosity and willingness to undertake the work required behind the scenes. His contribution helped maintain the Branch's activities and supported its ability to advocate for the educational needs of isolated families.
In recognition of his more than 20 years of dedicated membership, six years as Branch Treasurer and tireless contribution to fundraising and Branch activities, Paul McAuliffe was awarded Life Membership of the Aramac–Muttaburra Branch, with the presentation held on 19 April 1997. His Life Membership acknowledged his longstanding service, commitment and valuable contribution to the continued strength of the Branch and its work supporting rural and remote families.
