Rhondda Alexander had been a dedicated member of her ICPA Branch since 1974, when she first took on the role of Secretary/Treasurer. Over the following two decades, she held numerous executive positions and played an important role in the ongoing strength and activities of the Branch.
Following the separation of the Secretary and Treasurer roles in 1978, Rhondda became Secretary, before serving as President in 1983. She returned to the Treasurer/Secretary role in 1984 and became Vice President in 1985. When the Branch President resigned, Rhondda stepped into the President’s role, which she continued to hold throughout 1986 and 1987.
Rhondda served as Vice President in 1988 and 1989 before becoming Publicity Officer in 1990. She stepped into the Secretary’s role and continued in that position until 1993. From 1994 to 1997, she again served as Publicity Officer and was elected Vice President in 1997.
Her contribution extended well beyond executive positions. Rhondda was actively involved in organising Branch events and fundraising, including the 1977 ICPA Gymkhana at Marion Downs Station. In 1993, when the Branch took a motion concerning the Lake Eyre Catchment region to Federal Conference in Kalgoorlie, Rhondda gathered and collated the supporting data and figures.
In recognition of her many years of leadership, dedication and outstanding service to ICPA, Rhondda Alexander was awarded Life Membership in 1997, acknowledging the significant contribution she had made to the Branch since its early years.
