Margaret Duncombe – Hughenden Branch Life Member, 2024

Margaret Duncombe has been a dedicated member of the Hughenden Branch of ICPA since 1997, contributing at Branch, State and Federal levels. Over many years, Margaret has generously given her time and expertise to ICPA, becoming a familiar and respected face at conferences and events.

At Branch level, Margaret served as Hughenden Branch Treasurer from 2000 to 2002. She was also heavily involved when Hughenden hosted the 1999 ICPA Qld State Conference, taking responsibility for registrations and contributing to the successful running of the event.

Margaret’s contribution extended significantly to the national organisation. From 2001 to 2010, she served for nine years as ICPA Federal Treasurer. This was a demanding role that included processing ICPA memberships, while Margaret also willingly assisted across other portfolios whenever time permitted. Her lengthy service in this position demonstrated an extraordinary commitment to the administration and financial management of ICPA at Federal level.

During her years of involvement, Margaret also served one term as Federal Assistant Secretary, further demonstrating her willingness to take on responsibility wherever her skills and experience were needed.

Margaret represented the Hughenden Branch as a delegate at numerous conferences, including Roma in 1997, Katherine in 1999 and Adelaide in 2001. Whether undertaking an official role, representing her Branch or simply lending a hand at an ICPA event, Margaret has consistently demonstrated her commitment to the organisation and the families it represents.

In recognition of her longstanding Branch service, nine years as Federal Treasurer, service as Federal Assistant Secretary and continued dedication to ICPA, Margaret Duncombe was nominated for Life Membership of the Hughenden Branch. Her Life Membership recognises more than two decades of generous service and an enduring contribution to ICPA at local, State and Federal levels.
