Save the Date: Somerset Storyfest Heads West in 2026!
ICPA Qld is excited to share that Storyfest will be bringing its regional Writers’ Festivals to St George, Longreach and Emerald in 2026.
Storyfest’s outreach program is designed to give rural and remote communities equitable access to authors, illustrators and all the inspiration that comes from connecting with books and storytelling. Writers’ festivals rarely make it to the outback, and Storyfest is helping to change that by strengthening community connection, building a love of reading, and making creative experiences accessible for all children, no matter where they live.
In 2026, regional Queensland will welcome:
- St George – 31 August to 2 September
- Longreach – 9 to 11 September
- Emerald – 14 to 15 September
ICPA Qld look forward to seeing our communities come together to celebrate reading, imagination and the power of stories.
