Tina lives with her husband and two children on a cattle station 200km Northwest of Mt Isa. Both Tina and her husband grew up in Central Queensland and since being married have lived and worked in Southwest Queensland, Queensland Gulf and the Barkly Tablelands. They have raised three children who all have attended School of the Air schools first with Longreach School of the Air then with Mt Isa School of the Air. Their oldest daughter has joined the workforce and they have two boys who are attending boarding school in Rockhampton. Tina understands the issues and challenges with remote schooling, boarding schools and with travel to boarding schools, while also acknowledging how rewarding living in a rural and remote area can be for a child's life. Tina currently is managing a cattle station in Northwest Queensland with her husband.
Tina joined Mt Isa BOTA in 2012 for support and information from the ICPA and to support the lobbying the ICPA was doing around C2C and rural and remote education and is passionate that rural and remote families need to have a voice. From 2013 to 2019 Tina was the Branch Treasurer for Mt Isa BOTA. In addition to the Treasurer’s role Tina was also on the committee for the “Sports for Bush Kids”, a yearly event for Mt Isa BOTA. In 2020 Tina then took on the Publicity Officer role for the branch which she held till 2023 when she took on one of the Vice Presidents roles which she still holds.
Tina attended her first state conference at Cloncurry in 2015 and has enjoyed attending many more Queensland State Conferences and one Federal Conference since.
