Rob McArthur – Capricornia Branch Life Member - 2025
Rob McArthur joined ICPA Capricornia Branch, formerly Capricornia Branch of the Air, in 2001 alongside his wife Ainsley. Over more than two decades, Rob has demonstrated a strong commitment to ICPA and its advocacy for equitable educational opportunities for rural and remote children.
In 2020, Rob extended his contribution to ICPA Queensland when he was elected to State Council. During his time as a State Councillor, he led the Financial Assistance portfolio and also contributed to the Distance Education, Tertiary, Trade, Training and Travel portfolios. He represented ICPA at State Conferences in Cunnamulla in 2021 and Blackall in 2022 and participated in delegations, mid-year meetings and stakeholder discussions on behalf of rural and remote families.
Rob also made an outstanding contribution to the Clermont ICPA Sports Camp, serving the camp in a variety of roles from 2011 to 2024. He volunteered as a Sports Camp carer, volunteer coordinator and, from 2021 to 2023, Sports Camp Coordinator. Even after retiring from the coordinator role, Rob stepped back in at short notice in 2024 when the new coordinator was injured on the first day of camp, travelling to Clermont to ensure the camp could continue successfully.
Throughout his involvement, Rob has been recognised for his integrity, willingness to contribute and commitment to ensuring the best interests of ICPA and its members remain at the forefront. Together with Ainsley, he has continued a strong family tradition of advocacy inspired by his mother-in-law, Judy Camm, while passing that commitment on to the next generation.
In recognition of his more than 20 years of service to ICPA, his contribution at Branch and State level, and his exceptional commitment to the Clermont ICPA Sports Camp, Rob McArthur was awarded Life Membership of the Capricornia Branch of ICPA, acknowledging his outstanding contribution and unwavering dedication to rural and remote education.
