Dawn Brown – Moonie Branch Life Member, 2022

Dawn Brown played a pivotal role in the establishment of the Moonie Branch of ICPA in 1972, becoming the Branch's founding member and helping establish a voice for rural families seeking equitable educational opportunities for their children. Her commitment was driven by a strong belief that children growing up in rural communities deserved the same quality of education and opportunities as those living in urban areas.

From the very beginning, Dawn recognised the importance of ensuring that all children whose parents worked and lived in the Moonie district had access to a quality education, regardless of their geographical location. This belief became the foundation of her involvement with ICPA and reflected the organisation's commitment to educational equity for isolated children.

Throughout her many years of involvement, Dawn held important leadership positions within the Moonie Branch, serving as both Secretary and Treasurer. Through these roles, she contributed to the administration and ongoing operation of the Branch, helping ensure it remained an active advocate for local children and families.

In recognition of her pioneering role in founding the Moonie Branch in 1972, her service as Secretary and Treasurer, and her longstanding dedication to rural education, Dawn Brown was nominated for Life Membership of the Moonie Branch to coincide with its 50th anniversary in 2022. Her recognition acknowledges a remarkable contribution spanning five decades and her enduring belief that every child deserves access to quality education, regardless of where they live.
