Individual Funding Opportunities

Funding for sporting opportunities is available. Please reach out to the below organisations or the students’ school for financial support to attend trials and Championships.

  • Emerging Athlete Pathway - The Emerging Athlete Pathways (EAP) program supports eligible young athletes, coaches and officials aged 10-18 years to progress on a development pathway by providing financial assistance to help alleviate the costs associated with attending state, national and international events. Eligible athletes, coaches and official can apply for up to two events per Financial Year.
  • Local Sporting Champions - The Local Sporting Champions program provides financial assistance for coaches, officials and competitors aged 12-18 participating in state, national or international championships. Round 4 2024-25 Applications close: 30th April 2025.
  • Local Para Champions - The Local Para Champions program provides financial assistance for coaches, officials and competitors aged 12-24 participating in state, national or international championships for athletes with a disability. Round 4 2024-25 Applications opened: 1st February 2025.
  • Sports Excellence Scholarship Fund - The Sports Excellence Scholarship Fund (SESF) empowers talented young athletes facing financial hardship by providing $1000 scholarships to athletes aged10-18 years old, selected to represent their state, territory, or country.
  • South West Indigenous Network (SWIN) Pathways Program – The SWIN Pathways Program provides funding opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people across 19Local Government Areas.

School Funding Opportunities

  • Sporting Schools - Sporting Schools offers grant opportunities for primary schools, and targeted grant opportunities for secondary schools in relation to Years 7 and 8 students. Grants support the delivery of sport-based programs to help students build the confidence and capability to be active for life. Sporting Schools has partnered with more than 40 national sporting organisations and national sporting organisations for people with disability to facilitate delivery of Sporting Schools programs.
