Jessie Persse is a secondary teacher who lives on a sheep station 40km from Dirranbandi, in QLD. She is married to Charlie, and is mother to three beautiful children. Her children completed their primary schooling at Dirranbandi P-10 State School. They then moved to Brisbane to complete their secondary education as boarders.
Jess was born in Rockhampton, raised in northern NSW, and has spent her adult life in Brisbane, St George and Thallon/Dirranbandi. After completing her Bachelor of Education, she accepted a job in St George, and met her now husband two weeks later. Jess has taught in St George and Dirranbandi, and has recently been accepted into an Aspiring Principal's Program, and has aspirations of transitioning into a boarding role in the future.
Since moving to western Queensland, Jess has been involved in numerous committees, including a local Kindergarten committee, P&C, Dirranbandi Show and Rodeo roles, and kids sporting committees and clubs.
She is a long time member of her local ICPA branch, having taken on numerous roles across those years. In 2017 Jess joined QLD State Council in a councillor role, (after having attended only one conference prior), participating in numerous portfolio roles, until she stepped down in 2021.
Jessie thrives as part of a passionate and enthusiastic team and is excited to be part of Federal Council from 2026.
