UPDATE:

The future of VacSwim programs at three south coast locations is up to two councils, according to a recent review from the Department of Education.

Following community backlash the Department has completed a review of the decision which states that the City of Albany and Shire of Ravensthorpe must address safety issues for the program to continue.

ICPA WA welcomed the announcement in June from the Minister for Education, Hon. Dr Tony Buti calling for an independent review into the Department of Education's decision to cancel swimming lessons at three South Coast locations due to concerns.

The review involved community consultation, and we look forward to a suitable resolution being found.  A copy of the original news article as published in ABC News can be found at this link.
