I am Georgina Luckraft (maiden name Day) and I live at Allandy Station which can be found (with a map compass and a packed lunch) 250km NE of Broken Hill.
I grew up at Allandy and also next door at Calindary Station with my mum dad and brother Lachlan - who is still my neighbour.
Despite what seems like deep roots we’ve always considered ourselves quite a nomadic family. We’ve had lots of adventures and liken ourselves more to pigeons returning home.
My education kicked off with Broken Hill School of the Air where I learned to write backwards, upside down and starting from the right side of the page after sitting opposite my brother for a year when I was 4. So we had a fresh start when I turned 5 seated alongside Lachlan with a big yellow star drawn on the top left of the desk so I knew where to start writing from.
