The team met with several individuals and groups, including the Department of Education WA, to discuss topics such as:
- Raising the WA Boarding Away from Home Allowance (BAHA) to $5000. BAHA is currently sitting at $1461.
- Remuneration for Isolated Classroom Supervisor (RICS). ICPA WA is calling for an allowance to help families cover the cost of supervising their own children receiving distance education, whether the supervisor be the parent themselves or a home tutor.
- Creating a School of the Air travel allowance for families who drive their own vehicles to face-to-face learning events
- School Bus Services
- Full time kindy trials for rural schools and School of the Air families.
- Vacswim and Interm swimming lessons for rural students
- Residential College infrastructure
- Boarding Standards Review affecting all boarding houses across Australia.
