A small, rural community situated just south of the Queensland border and north of Moree, the Boomi branch held its inaugural meeting in August 1980, a drought year, which no doubt precipitated the forming of the branch.
Drought again has affected our current membership base, however, there has been a recent increase in student numbers at the local primary school and a good number of families with boarding school and university students in the district.
The Boomi Branch looks forward to supporting these families and growing its membership into the future.
In 2007 Wendi Carrigan was elected onto state council. Wendi held the portfolio of CAP convenor for three years.
