Assistance for Isolated Children (AIC)
The Assistance for Isolated Children (AIC) is a Federal Government payment for parents and carers of children who are unable to access a local state school and who meet certain criteria.
To be eligible for AIC, your child must meet certain living, age and study requirements. And meet one of the following:
- is geographically isolated
- has a disability or special education need
- has no reasonable access to a government school.

School Drive Subsidy (SDS)
School Drive Subsidy is only available to NSW residents in areas where there is no public transport, to drive an eligible student all or part of the way to school.
Note: It is understood that public transport services are unchanged during the COVID-19 pandemic. As such, School Drive Subsidy cannot be approved for families who opt to drive their students to school instead of utilising available public transport during this period.
