Carmel is no stranger to ICPA. She has been a member since the 1990’s and has held the positions of Branch Secretary, Qld Assistant Secretary, Federal Councillor and Federal Treasurer. Carmel is also an experienced home tutor having taught the children through Distance Education for their primary education before they all headed off to boarding school.

Carmel was ICPA’s first Web Manager and Webmaster. She oversaw the development and implementation of the ICPA website from 2002 until she stepped aside in 2010. During that time, she also was responsible for training of all State Webmasters. She is a Life Member of Southern Downs branch in Queensland.

Since stepping off Federal Council Carmel has completed a Diploma in Family History through the University of Tasmania and has been eagerly documenting her family’s story. She is very excited to be taking on the role of ICPA Federal Archive Officer and is keen to digitise ICPA’s documents so future generations will always have access to our organisation’s history.

She would like to encourage branches that may have any ICPA Federal historical documents they would like to pass on to please make contact with her contact page.
