Roxanne and her husband Tom, owned Thundelarra Station in the Yalgoo Shire where they raised and educated four children. Roxanne has a Bachelor of Education degree and so filled the role of home tutor for her children who were educated on Meekatharra School of the Air, undertaking distance education for all of their primary schooling. They attended boarding schools in Perth for their high school years and continued on to university education.
Roxanne joined her local Yalgoo branch in 1985. Over the years she has held various branch executive positions and currently is secretary/treasurer. In 2000, Roxanne went onto WA State Council, firstly as Vice President and the next year, taking on the role of State President. She later joined Federal Council and has held the position of Federal President.
Although now living in the South West of WA where she and Tom own an equine training business and Roxanne works part-time for a women in farming organisation, Roxanne remains a staunch supporter of the Yalgoo branch.
She believes it is important to keep local branches going to be strong voices for communities on all things related to rural education.
