At a meeting of the Hyden Districts branch on 3rd November 2020 it was unanimously voted for a change of branch name to Eastern Districts.
Previous History
Hyden Districts ICPA Branch came into being back in 1981 following a meeting attended by Judy Hill and Judy Stewart from the Lakes Branch. Since then we have had many active years with meeting/social gatherings, and we host the town's Melbourne Cup Luncheon, which is always a successful fundraiser and keeps ICPA to the fore. In November 2020 our name changed to the Eastern Districts Branch.
The Branch has provided two State Presidents, three State Secretaries, two Pedals Editors, State and Federal Treasurers, and Federal Secretary's as well as members on both State and Federal Council. An excellent record. The branch has had a representative at every Federal Conference since formation - a remarkable achievement - made possible by the fund raising efforts of many hard-working members. We have hosted a Bi-Annual State Conference as well as Seminars on Enhancing Children's Learning covering many topics related to both gifted children and those with difficulties.
On 3rd November 2020 we awarded Branch Life membership to three of our founding members Mrs Carolyn Burns, Mrs Marlene Mayfield and Mrs Gwen Walton. These ladies have all held numerous positions within our branch and we thank them for their continued support. We also acknowledge the contribution made by Mrs Kath James awarding her a Certificate of Appreciation.
We continue to be a strong and active branch, and always welcome new members.
