My interest in ICPA began when I was a governess in the Alice Springs area in the late 1980’s. I originally worked as a governess and a nanny on cattle stations, then two years at St Phillips as a house parent. My interest in remote schooling had begun. I moved to the station my husband was working on and after having two children I became involved in monthly Playgroups held at the Kulgera police station coinciding with clinic days. We moved south when our eldest was 4.5 years old. My years down south involved a lot of involvement with playgroup, kindergarten, school committees and school council.
Many years later we bought a station in the North West, then moved permanently into the area after our sons both finished their schooling. I joined the North West Branch of ICPA at this time.
