Lisa Slade was awarded State Life Membership of SA ICPA in March 2025, presented by State President and fellow Flinders Ranges Branch member, Belinda Hatcher. Lisa’s long association with ICPA began when she moved to Moolooloo Station with her husband Keith and their young family, encouraged early on by her mother‑in‑law, Lesley, to become involved in the Flinders Ranges Branch.
Across many years, Lisa has been a dedicated advocate for rural and remote education, shaped by her own family’s experiences with Distance Education, boarding school, university, and medical school. Her commitment to educational equity has been evident through her extensive service at branch, state, and federal levels.
Within SA ICPA, Lisa has held numerous leadership roles including State President, Vice President, Immediate Past President, and State Webmaster, first stepping into the presidency in 2015 and remaining an active member of State Council until recently. Nationally, she served as Federal Treasurer from 2017 for four years, followed by a term as Federal Vice President, contributing strong financial oversight and organisational leadership.
Lisa is widely respected for her practical, reliable, and results‑driven approach. She has consistently supported members, guided processes, and contributed to major advocacy efforts. Her collaborative style and work ethic have been central to SA ICPA’s achievements in recent years.
Lisa’s Life Membership recognises her exceptional service, leadership, and unwavering commitment to rural and remote families. Although she has stepped back from State Council, her contributions remain deeply valued—and her guidance will continue to be appreciated.
