North West Branch - Life Membership (presentation speech)

Joanna Gibson joined the North West Branch of Isolated Children and Parent’s Association in 1999 whilst living at Parakylia Station and her daughter Amelia was a baby.

Joanna is articulate, extremely well informed and a great mentor for all the younger members of ICPA . Joanna was elected to State Council in 2001/2002, again from 2005/2011. Joanna has held positions of State Treasurer, State Publicity Officer and North West Branch Delegate,2005 Adelaide State Council conference convenor, 2009 North West Branch State Conference Convenor, President of the North West Branch from 2008 until 2015, elected to Federal Council in 2013 until 2017. Joanna had the Federal Council Communications Portfolio, a huge portfolio and one Joanna was committed to.

Joanna has done all of this whilst teaching three children along with the other roles a station wife has. We thank James, Amelia, Molly and Charlie for the amount of time Joanna has spent and still spends on ICPA. Joanna is a passionate worker for ICPA at a branch, state or federal level. As a member of the North West Branch I am happy to congratulate Joanna on her life membership of the North West Branch.

SA ICPA State Council - Life Membership (presentation speech)

It was with great pleasure that the SA ICPA State Council presented Joanna Gibson with a Life Membership at our annual State Conference in March at Port Augusta.

Joanna has been a constant guiding light for members past and present who always gives sound advice at the end of the phone or in a meeting.

Joanna’s dedication whilst on Federal Council and as communications portfolio leader benefited all people in remote and rural Australia.

Although Joanna is not currently serving on SA ICPA State Council she is still helping out behind the scenes and a wealth of knowledge for all Councillors.

Thanks Joanna for all your hard work, dedication to rural and remote children it is truly appreciated
