Helen was born and raised at Hawker in the Flinders Ranges. She met and married her husband Trevor and moved to Yanyarrie, Carrieton where they raised three sons.
In 2003 they moved to Nilpinna Station on the Oodnadatta Track, where they still reside. Two of their sons, Damian and Matthew, had completed their education and youngest son Steven went to Sacred Heart College in Adelaide.
Helen joined the Marla Oodnadatta branch in 2003. She has held positions of President, Secretary and Treasurer at different times, and is currently the Branch Treasurer.
Helen has completed almost five years as State Secretary, 4 years as State Treasurer, and a number of years as a Branch delegate.
Helen is a Life Member of the Marla Oodnadatta branch.
Helen is passionate about the education of children in rural and remote areas, and acknowledges the input of past members who have worked tirelessly for outback children.
