Welcome to the April 2024 edition of Pedals Magazine. As always, you’ll find the magazine packed full of branch updates, stories from members and federal council happenings.
As a HPE teacher and avid sports fan, I always love hearing about the success of ICPA sports camps run for our distance education children at Charters Towers and Mount Isa at the end of each school year. These events form a pivotal part of a holistic education experience for distance education students, who don’t typically get the opportunity to participate in team sport.
Another interesting story in this edition features Sharyn Currin. Sharyn has had a remarkable impact on the education of children for over 50 years, and it is pleasing to see her honoured by the Department of Education for her commitment to ensuring quality education for students at Julia Creek State School in North-West Queensland (page 20).
NSW State ICPA along with the federal conference committee are working hard preparing for our annual conference in July. More details regarding the conference can be found on page 12.
