Background:

Mrs Margaret Lacy, founder of ICPA in WA.

Mrs Lacy took on the challenge of educating State and Federal government education ministers on the hardships faced by isolated families, such as the lack of hostel accommodation, remedial assistance and itinerant teachers, and the withdrawal of the State Government's Education Hardship Committee.

Mrs Lacy stepped down as President of ICPA WA in 1974, at which time she was awarded Life Membership of the organisation.  She also represented WA in the Federal executive from 1972-74.

Margaret (now Hoare) lives in Albany and still takes an interest in the work of ICPA.
