State Life Member
Background:

1976 saw the awarding of Life Membership to Mr Bain in appreciation of his very generous donation of the proceeds of his  autobiography to ICPA (WA).

Enie wrote of his tough but enterprising life as a Scottish immigrant, clearing farmland at Katanning as a youngster then later owning a business with his brother  carting hay with a horse and dray.  He survived WW! as a 10th Light Horseman, returning to WA to become a pastoralist of fine standing in the Meekatharra area.

In presenting the award to Mr Bain, State President of the day Mrs Sue Broad had this to say:  "By donating the proceeds of the "The Ways of Life" to the ICPA he has bestowed upon our organisation an unprecedented honour.  If all children everywhere could read this book and learn from it what honesty, sincerity and hard work can accomplish, it would help them develop into the calibre of Mr Bain.  Then the world wold be a better place to live in."
