Background:

Wendy lives at “Merchison Park”, Glenmorgan with her husband Andrew and their four daughters.  Together they run their cattle and mixed cropping business.  All the girls have attended the local primary school Teelba State School where Wendy has until recently worked as a Teacher Aide.  All daughters have attended St Hilda’s School for their secondary education.  Two of the girls have graduated and along the way chosen various pathways to finish their secondary schooling including one who was a 2020 graduate.  The two younger girls are now in year 11 and 9.

Wendy joined the Westmar Inglestone Branch when her girls were little and has previously been the branch Secretary.  Wendy attended her first Conference in Mt Isa where debate was all about Prep being introduced.  Since then Wendy has also been a part of the organising committee of three State Conferences (Goondiwindi, Toowoomba and St George) and also two Federal Conferences in Brisbane and Longreach.  Wendy joined State Council at the Cloncurry Conference in 2015.  Wendy is currently a QLD Vice-President and is leading the Curriculum Portfolio along with Boardings Schools and Hostels Portfolio.

Wendy joined QLD Council and now Federal ICPA to work with fellow, like-minded people who have a passion for all levels of education for our greatest assets, our children, and the opportunity to have the hands-on ability to help lobby for all ages and stages.  A passion for every child, regardless of how they learn being able to receive a quality education is what keeps the ICPA enthusiasm alive.
