 Federal Council of the Isolated Children's Parents' Association is the overarching governing body of the organisation. The Northern Territory and States, with the exception of Victoria, have state based councils to deal with local state/territory issues. Each State Council has affiliated member branches which together, make up the national association, ICPA Australia.

What Role Do the Different Councils Play Within ICPA?

THE FEDERAL COUNCIL is the properly constituted body elected from branches within Australia, to have general control and management of the administration, affairs, property and funds of "The Isolated Children's Parents' Association of Australia (Inc)" - ICPA (Aust). The Federal Council comprises of at least one representative from each State or Territory which has a State Council of the Association, provided that there is a nomination from that State or Territory.

THE NEW SOUTH WALES STATE COUNCIL is an elected council of office bearers consisting of:- The President; 2(two) Vice Presidents; Secretary; Treasurer; Assistant Secretary; Publicity Officer; Lone Member Officer and 4(four) Committee Members; each of whom are elected at the Annual General Meeting of the Association. The Council has the general control and management of the affairs, property and funds of the Association, ICPA NSW.

THE NORTHERN TERRITORY STATE COUNCIL Incorporated" is the properly constituted body elected from financial members within the Northern Territory to have general control and management of the administration, affairs, property and funds of the Northern Territory based association, ICPA NT.

THE QUEENSLAND STATE COUNCIL
is the properly constituted body elected by financial members within the state.  Queensland Council has the general control and management of the affairs, property and funds of the association, ICPA (Qld) Inc.
